It houses a collection of historic prints of the local area. Watt Library 9 Union Street, Greenock Tel: 01475 715628 Open: Mon & Thurs 2pm-5pm, 6pm-8pm Tue & Fri 10am-1pm, 2pm-5pm Wed & Sat 10am-1pm Within the same complex as the McLean is the Watt Library which houses Inverclyde's archives and local history collection. This is an excellent resource for people researching ship building on the lower Clyde or, for those whose ancestors came from this part of Renfrewshire, tracing their family routes. There is a collection of local papers dating from the first decade of the 19th century, Post Office Directories, Statistical Returns and town plans and old photographs. Also housed within the Watt Library is the Burns Room where Greenock Burns Club, the original Burns appreciation society, keeps its archives.
